CountyComm BIO-MED Swan Rectangle Patch - A component of MHS (Military Health System) contacted us about the Black Swan patches we made for another client. They wanted their own, with a medical twist. Our design team worked with their visionaries, and here’s what we came with.
These beautifully embroidered patches were made for members of a component that reports to MHS. (We have probably said too much) They are backed with a hook fastener and supplied with a piece of Loop fastener (the generic version of Velcro).
What does it mean?:
- Black Swan: Definition: A black swan is an unpredictable event that is beyond what is normally expected of a situation and has potentially severe consequences
- Bio-Hazard logo in the background: Do we really need to say anything more?
- Rod of Asclepius: is a serpent-entwined rod wielded by the Greek god Asclepius, a deity associated with healing and medicine
- 2020: The year it all happened. (Can we just start fresh in 2021?)
Call it what you like, A Merit Badge, a Participation Award, but no matter what, once you understand the meaning behind it, It's a pretty cool patch worn by heroes.
Only 2020 were made, with 1200 going to the government client. Our client gave us permission to sell the remaining extras to the public. The catch is, we can not name the agency, the team involved, or any details. If you find it on Pinterest, or elsewhere on the web, good job! but we didn't help.
